Please join the Chicago Abortion Fund for A Home Here: Post Abortion Community Circles. Each month we feature a specific topic. This event is free and open to all. Our system requires us to have a donation page; please bypass this page. NO DONATION IS NEEDED.
Use this form to register for post-abortion community circles from February through May. A Home Here is intentionally curated to be inclusive, supportive, and open, without any judgment. This space is only for people who have had abortions– whether they had an abortion recently or decades ago. All gender identities are welcome.
Circles are intentionally curated to be inclusive, supportive, and open, without any judgment. Each month, we collectively check in, engage in mindfulness/meditation practices, and participate in a facilitated discussion to share our experiences (or just listen!) as we build connection and widen abortion narratives. Circles welcome all who have had abortions, not just CAF grantees.
Chicago Abortion Fund Community Circles February-May
February 20th at 7:30PM CST – Do I or Don't I? Reflections on Sharing Our Abortion Stories
Reflections on disclosing our abortion stories to partners and/or loved ones. We’ll also spend time reflecting on the ways our disclosures have impacted our relationships in both positive and challenging ways.
March 12th at 7:30 PM CST – Only a Small Part of My History: Reflecting On Our Abortions After Time Has Passed
In this circle, we will make space for those who have had abortions later in life to share their stories. We will also reflect on abortion stories that happened in the past, and how reflection can change as time goes on.
April 16th at 7:30 PM CST – My Decision, My Story: An Abortion Storytelling Workshop
This circle will focus on owning your abortion story and offer skills on how to speak your story confidently with friends, community or elsewhere! We will be joined by a special guest facilitator.
May 14th at 7:30 PM CST – Open Circle
CAF will be hosting a drop-in circle! All are welcome to join– seasoned and first-time attendees, if you’ve shared your story many times or want the chance to connect with a supportive group for the first time. We hope to see you there!
Hosted by Eboné McCloud of The Ayaba Series and Tunisia Tai of WeTestify, with occasional guest facilitators, this is a space for people to feel safe and at home within themselves to speak about their experiences with abortion care.
Eboné McCloud is a certified reiki practitioner, Akashic Records reader, healing space curator, and tea maker. With a collective of ten years experience in wellness, she has created sacred spaces for women of color to find home within themselves and to connect with the larger community, specifically with her organization, The Ayaba Series.
Tunisia Tai is a queer Black feminist, proudly pro-abortion, and the Operations Manager with We Testify. Prior to joining We Testify, she worked as Operations Coordinator with Resources for Abortion Delivery (RAD). After her own abortion experience, Tunisia sought out support groups for people who have had abortions, eventually leading her to Chicago Abortion Fund’s A Home Here: Post-Abortion Community Circles.
